Thursday, June 29, 2006 Today's Fiber News As promised, more yarn up for grabs. The Brown Sheep Nature Spun was grabbed before details even were posted! I still have to write up and photograph the Habu. Here is one new offering. There are still three yarns available from earlier this week: Frog Tree Chunky Alpaca, Phildar Onde (a real deal for a French yarn that is discontinued and is perfect for a summer top) and Costa Rica, the most lux fur in colors that look like jewelry. Yarn: Rowan's Linen Drape -- Runner kit from magazine subscription in navy (2 balls) and gray-blue (1 ball) Note: As the kit required the yarn to be doubled, I have already put a portion of the yarn on bobbins which are included in the price! Do not purchase if you only want the yarn as it has been cut to various lenghts. Details: Sport Weight, 55% linen, 45% viscose, Gauge: 5.5 to 6 sts per inch Needles: #3 to 6 US Price: $15 with shipping. (Linen Drape, a dicontinued yarn, is normally $7.95 per ball/$23.85 for 3. The pattern for the runner was not published, but included a part of a kit only available with a subscription purchase. Kits like this general go for $25 on ebay. There are also 5 bobbins (3 small and 2 large) include which have a retail value of up to $2.50) posted by Nora | 11:36 AM
